Recently, a symposium on the application of automotive chemical materials hosted by Sinopec automotive industry technical cooperation center was held. It was learned from the meeting that in 2013, 1.7 million tons of resin, rubber and synthetic fiber raw materials produced by Sinopec were used in the processing of auto parts and interior and exterior trim parts. These * * vehicle materials play a positive role in vehicle lightweight, environmental protection and safety.

　　It is reported that if the vehicle weight is reduced by 10%, the fuel efficiency can be improved by 6% to 8%. The vehicle weight can be reduced by 1% and the fuel consumption can be reduced by 0.7%. Therefore, the development of automobile lightweight has important environmental protection significance.

　　Zhao Jiang, deputy director of Sinopec automotive industry technical cooperation center, said that the automotive chemical materials developed by Sinopec, including plastics and fibers with antibacterial rate of 99%, lithium battery diaphragm and special materials for capacitor membrane, play an active role in the upstream enterprises of the industrial chain for automotive lightweight. The automotive industry also continues to require the petrochemical industry to accelerate innovation and development in the fields of lightweight and oil upgrading. At the same time, Zhao Jiang believes that petrochemical products, whether it is the supporting research and development of lubricating grease, the design of materials for auto parts, the early participation of auto customers and meeting the personalized needs of customers, will be the trend of providing services in the petrochemical industry in the future.
